Super low risk signings. Even if they just end up being #5 or #6 dmen the short contracts keep them from being bad deals. If they end up being as good as Zaitsev even better!

Yushkevic and Markov were two of the best D the Leafs had in the 90s. They loved the city and especially Danny "Elvis" Markov, brought a lot of joy and personality to the team. He was the opposite of everything my Dad taught me to hate about the russians growing up.

I know because of Borje and then Mats, the Leafs are a popular team in Sweden. Maybe the Leafs can become the new Russian desirable place. I read an article that Zaitsev was blown away by the Leafs and the city etc. Apparently he was courted by quite a few teams but once he met with The Leafs his mind was made up.

Maybe the buds start mining talent from mother Russia on the regular. Can't hurt, right? KHL works like a really good testing league with the talent level.

If it looks like Reimer is going to Bernier us, I am fully behind Babcock sending out Martin to channel his inner Bertuzzi and Robidas that (frank)er. (couldn't think off hand of a Leaf player that purposely injured someone, had to use a Canuck - apologies)

P.S. This is of course a joke. I would never condone one of our team's players injuring a sieve like Reimer that plays on an opposing team. They might improve.
